Project Planning Do's and Don'ts

Project Planning Do's and Don'ts

Any renovation, new construction or reorganization should be planned.

Planning is just good policy...

Do - Have a specific vision. When you make a plan feel free to let your imagination run wild. The more creative you get, the more fun it will be and the more rewarding it will feel.

Don't - Get stuck on your vision. Sometimes a great idea gets better with a little reality or compromise. I've had more than one dealing with a client who was dead set on something they found in a home improvement magazine. What they didn't realize was that what they wanted couldn't be applied to our area.

Do - Ask for help. A fresh perspective may be what you need to realize the perfect layout. Maybe you need someone with experience to give some insight or first hand knowledge.

Don't - Rush. The longer you let your idea marinate the better it will taste when it's ready. I like to remind my clients that versatility is priceless. What you're seeing on tv or in magazines isn't always practical tomorrow.

Do - Keep the seasons in mind. How will your plan be affected by seasonal changes or weather events. What will the maintenance be?

Don't - Waste Any More Time! Now is the best time to get started planning your next undertaking. Dream big and get to work. Plan a project, make a goal, arrange a meeting. Whatever it is, it needs to be done and done soon! So keep these do's and don'ts in mind and #getoutthere
